Well, I just finished Final Fantasy X-2 last night. And I must say, it was actually really short for an RPG. Especially when compared to how long it took me to get through X.

Comparison:
Final Fantasy X: 63:48
Final Fantasy X-2: 26:49

Quite a difference, isn't it?

But then again, I suppose it makes up due to the New Game Plus feature, as well as completing all the side missions to give the game 100% cleared status, which I did not do all the side missions, just so you know. They probably didn't want to make it too long each and every time someone decided to replay the game, trying to get more items and working towards the two alternate endings. But then again, it might have just been laziness.

Don't get me wrong, I really, really liked X-2, but some parts of it just felt a bit lazy. Such as how the story came to the section that comes before the end. The game didn't seem like it was getting close to the end, but then suddenly, we get 1000 Words and it just shows us Shuyin and Lenne's past and demise, and then very shortly afterward we get a short explanation of what Lenne was and how they both came to their own end. The process just felt rushed. Especially after that, Chapter 4 came to an end, and started Chapter 5, which only has one goal:Finish the Damn Game And Watch A Bunch Of Cutscenes If You Go Anywhere But To Where the Final Fight Is.

So to summarize, Chapters 4 and 5 were much more rushed than the rest of the game was. And it's fairly obvious. But still, X-2 was a great departure from the very dramatic and sometimes quite dark storylines and feel of previous Final Fantasy games. It felt bright most of the time, with some drama placed in that did not seem as if it were too much, unlike some of the other Final Fantasys. This should be played if and only when you play and BEAT Final Fantasy X.

So, that sums up my small ranting session about...Final Fantasy X-2 apparently. Wow, that wasn't too much to talk about really. So most likely from now on, the journal shall be getting a small random-talking-about-something-session at least once a week.
